Karen Higgins-Carter is Managing Director of IT at JP Morgan Chase.
Previously, she was CIO for GE Capital Retail Card. In this capacity, she led the design, development, and operations for all IT systems, while delivering innovative ecommerce and mobile technology solutions for both client-partners and customers.
Higgins-Carter also was the CIO for GE Asset Management, where she oversaw the operations and enhancement of research, portfolio analytics, trading, market data, and business intelligence systems for over $100B in assets under management. She began her career with GE in 1998 as IT Strategy Leader at General Electric Capital Services. In 2000, she joined GE Consumer Finance and was responsible for all IT project delivery for GE’s U.S. private label credit card clients. Higgins-Carter has also led IT Operations for GE Commercial Finance with a specific focus on IT security, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement in system availability and performance. Earlier in her career, she was a Manager at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where she specialized in application development to support emerging broadband services in the telecommunications industry.
Higgins-Carter earned both a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Economics from Lafayette College. She serves as a member of Lafayette’s Leadership Council.
