Bob Schmeider is a senior technology consultant currently working with a major financial firm on the divestiture and sale of a large division. He is consulting on the technology separation and the architecture of a cloud-based infrastructure for the firm.
Bob is the former Chief Technology Officer for Société Générale (SG), one of the largest financial services firms in the euro-zone. He was responsible for the infrastructure services delivery in North and South America for a number of the SG group entities, with a major focus on the corporate and investment banking division. After joining Société Générale in 2000, Schmeider has held a number of infrastructure management positions, taking on the CTO role in 2007. His major focus has been on providing service quality through automation, process improvement and a balanced outsourcing and offshoring strategy.
Schmeider has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services technology sector and prior to Société Générale, has worked in the technology divisions of JP Morgan and Barclays Capital. He began his career in the natural gas industry and the utilization of technology to automate a number of automated mapping and facilities management systems.
He has a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from the Cooper Union and an Executive M.B.A. from St. John’s University.
