Filippo Passerini was Group President, Global Business Services (GBS) and Chief Information Officer for Procter & Gamble, responsible for delivering more than 170 services and solutions to the company’s 120,000 employees.
He oversaw an organization of more than 6,000 people. Innovative in structure, scope and philosophy, GBS has saved the company more than $1 billion to date. Under Passerini’s leadership, the GBS organization created a business model that is considered unique and progressive in the shared services industry. The organization’s focus was on transforming the way business was done, driving growth, value and competitive advantage for P&G. GBS has been recognized three times as one of the Ten Most Admired Shared Services Organizations. In 2009, the Shared Service and Outsourcing Network awarded GBS as the “Best Mature Outsourced Services Delivery.”
Passerini has received numerous awards for CIO Excellence and IT leadership, including the 2006 and 2008 Shared Service Thought Leader of the Year, the 2010 NASSCOM Excellence in IT award, CIO Hall of Fame, Information Week’s Chief of the Year and the CIO Executive Summit’s Top Ten Breakaway Leaders award. In 2012 Passerini was recognized with the first-ever Fisher-Hopper Prize for Lifetime Achievement in CIO Leadership, by the University of Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
A native of Rome, Passerini earned his Doctorate in Statistics & Operating Research. Passerini sits on the Board of Directors for United Rentals, the most significant equipment rental company in the world.
