Laura Miller is a transformation executive with a passion for leveraging technology to improve operational efficiencies, customer engagement and corporate revenue.  Her clients and co-workers appreciate her straight talk, her ability to deliver and her desire to challenge the status quo.  Laura is distinguished by her inspirational leadership and trusted relationships that enable her to drive continuous business improvements using technology.

As IHG’s Global Chief Information Officer, Laura’s responsibilities include the strategy, delivery, operations and security of technology solutions in more than 5,400 hotels and corporate offices around the globe.  She has effectively partnered with her peers to deliver several organization-wide changes including implementation of a new central reservation system that delivers increased functionality and lower cost of ownership.  Laura’s focus on innovation is also evident in her ideation of the new hotel user interface that integrates workflow and data to improve overall guest service and hotel operations.  She is now spearheading a major initiative to accelerate speed to market of new product initiatives and reduce overall cost of technology by better leveraging strategic supplier relationships.

Laura’s background includes extensive, multi-discipline technology and multi-industry experience.  She was previously SVP at First Data Corporation (FDC), a highly regulated global payments processing leader that serves more than six million merchant locations, thousands of card issuers and millions of consumers.  In this role, Laura navigated an extremely complex private equity ownership (KKR) environment, where she led several transformational initiatives to rearchitect the business to deliver operational and financial improvements.  She worked closely with international leadership to develop and implement strategies to address the global financial crisis.  In addition, Laura has served in various senior leadership capacities at TD Ameritrade, The Patent and Trademark Office, The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County, Maryland, and British Aerospace, PLC.

Laura holds a Masters in Computer Systems Management degree from the University of Maryland.  Among the recognition she has earned throughout her career, she was recently awarded the WIT Woman of the Year in Technology and the Most Powerful & Influential Woman Award by the Georgia Diversity Council.  Laura holds certifications in Program Management (PMP) and Information Systems Audit (ISACA) and is a member of the Society of Information Management (SIM), Women in Technology (WIT), and Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). In addition, she has served on the Computer Associates DevOps Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of Argyle Country Club and is an executive ambassador for TechBridge. 

When not serving in her corporate capacity, Laura works with her husband in their residential remodeling and property management business, which they have owned and operated for more than 20 years.
